Demographic Information
Over the past decade the Cape Coral-Fort Myers area has been one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the United States – and that trend looks to continue. Lee County’s population grew by more than 50% between 2000 and 2010 and is now dominated by working-age people. In fact, the county’s 18-24 year old population – those available to enter the workforce – is growing about twice as fast as that of Florida and many times faster than the United States.
